BYE BYE TUMOR....Road to Recovery........

Peni and I went to visit his Neurologist this past Monday and was told the tumor in his head(pituitary gland) was benign. That was good news, but we were also shocked to find out that surgery would be the very next day. It was either that or wait until December. We looked at each other and didn't even think twice. Tomorrow it is!

I knew everything was going to be okay, but just the fact of doing any kind of surgery in the head. :(  We were told by his Neurologist that the surgery would be up the nose. Sounds a lot better than the head. We were to report at 8am the next day.

We had our Bishop give Peni a blessing the night before surgery and after he did, we were both comforted. After praying I felt good about everything. I knew that that Lord would take care of us and that we we will get through this TOGETHER!

IT WAS TIME..........Couldn't hold the tears back as I squeezed my husband before they took him back. I told him everything would be okay and that I would be there with him through it all. I've always been grateful for such a wonderful companion and my love for him right now goes beyond ETERNITY!

As they took me to the waiting area they told me the surgery would be about an hour and a half to two hours. TICK TOCK! TICK TOCK! TICK TOCK! I tried not to look at the clock. Was grateful to have love and support from both of our families. They managed to put a smile on my face. LOVE MY FAMILY!

As I saw my husbands Neurologist approach me, I had a good feeling. The smile on my face when he said that the surgery went great and that they removed the tumor. "Your husband did good and will be waiting for you in Neuroscience ICU." He did tell us ahead of time that we would go to NS ICU to be closely monitored. We spent 4 days in ICU and 2 days on regular floors.

Headaches, dizziness, pain, nausea....It was all still there, but to be expected. He is on the road to RECOVERY........He's happy to be home and going to be taking it easy for a while.  WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER! Thanks to all our family and friends for the great LOVE and SUPPORT!

I'm truly grateful to my family for LOVING and CARING for our children. Blessed with THE BEST!
